Overview

Tessell describes itself as a multi-cloud database-as-a-service for Oracle and SQL Server. In 2023 ActiveSet moved its marketing site to Webflow, then built and maintained its pages, templates and CMS until 2026.

Where they started

In June 2023 ActiveSet proposed options for Tessell's website, and Tessell chose a light redesign plus a move to Webflow. Pixeto, a design studio ActiveSet partners with, did the redesign, and ActiveSet built the site in Webflow.

Pages linked to Tessell's backend moved to an app subdomain, with 301 redirects from the old addresses.

What we built, year by year

Grouped by year and cut to the main items.

2023Migration

Rebuilt the marketing site in Webflow with Pixeto's light redesign: HubSpot forms, the Greenhouse jobs embed, analytics and Intercom scripts, backend-linked pages moved to an app subdomain with 301 redirects, the .io to .com setup and the site transfer. Live in mid-August 2023.

Late 2023Templates

An event landing page template, customer story pages, and a gated ebook and events CMS with listing pages (August to September).

2024Blog v2

New homepage sections, an About Us update, blog v2 with category and tag pages, a Consolidate and Optimize page, and RDS battle-card and GCP pages.

2025New pages

An ebook listing update, whitepaper pages, events CMS changes, Meet the Tessellators, About page recognitions, a logo strip with analyst badges, and Analyst Relations, Tessell for SQL and Oracle Exadata pages.

2026Events

Changes to the events CMS template in April 2026.

How the work ran

01

Design partner

Pixeto did the 2023 light redesign. ActiveSet built the site in Webflow and maintained it.

02

Weekly check-ins

Weekly website check-ins with Tessell's marketing team, and requests through a shared Slack channel.

03

CMS for marketing

Events, ebooks and the blog were built as Webflow CMS collections with listing pages.

We worked together from June 2023 to 2026. tessell.com has since moved off Webflow, so the screens on this page come from Wayback Machine captures of the Webflow site.

We came to ActiveSet when we wanted a new design and a CMS as our site was built in React and for Marketing team it was quite a heavy task to get the landing pages for campaigns and maintain the site. ActiveSet did the revamp of the website and developed the entire site again on Webflow. They have made our engineering team free from looking at our site so that they could focus on our core product.

About this case study

This page describes ActiveSet's own work for Tessell. The 2023 redesign is Pixeto's work. Dates come from our project records: the shared Slack channels, email, calendar and call notes. tessell.com no longer runs on Webflow; the screens were rendered from Wayback Machine captures of the Webflow site taken between March and May 2026. This page does not include traffic, conversion or revenue figures.
